Founder
Aleš Rod is an economist and analyst specializing in public sector economics, regulation, and economic policy. He leads a consulting and research institution, combining academic rigor with practical solutions for economic challenges. With additional experience in investing and entrepreneurship, he brings a multifaceted perspective to his work. Aleš also holds a Ph.D. in Economic Theory and has served as a board member at a U.S.-accredited university and advisor to the Czech government.
Michael Fanta
Founder
Michael is experienced in leading and coordinating analytical projects, data processing and presentations at international conferences and debates. His expertise focuses on broader economic and regulatory challenges, including the regulation of addiction, the economics of network industries, waste management (EPR schemes), and the analysis of unintended consequences of regulation and taxation or barriers to economic growth. He holds a PhD in applied economics and public administration.

Márton Schlanger is a political and policy analyst, lead researcher of Republikon Institute, a party-independent think-tank based in Budapest, where he’s been responsible for opinion polls and analyses. He holds a Bachelors’ degree in political science and a MSc in Economics and Public Policy. Most of his publications focus on electoral systems, as well as social policy. The public knows Márton best from his frequent features as political analyst on TV, radio, papers and podcasts.
Adrian Nikolov

Adrian Nikolov is a senior economist with the Insitute for Market Economics in Sofia, Bulgaria. He has been a part of the IME team since 2017. Previously, he worked as a reporter at Economedia with a focus on international economic relations, especially in Eastern Europe.
He has been a contributor to Infograph and EKIP websites. Within IME he works on poverty and inequality, labour market, education and regional development, and recently on digital policy and innovation. He holds a Master’s degree in Comparative Political Science from the University of Tartu, Estonia and a Bachelor’s degree from Sofia University. His academic work focuses on the impact of economic development and dynamics on electoral outcomes and the credibility of governing parties.
